Every list of Las Vegas events tells you what's on. None of them tell you the thing you actually need to know: whether the city is going to be full while you're in it. That changes your room rate, your wait times, and how long it takes to get from one side of the Strip to the other.

So this page only lists the events big enough to fill hotels. If it isn't here, it won't affect your trip.

Dates are the ones that were confirmed when this page was last checked. Anything at stadium, arena or convention-centre scale is here; individual club nights and single concerts are not, because they don't move the price of a room.

Raiders preseasonAllegiant Stadium. Preseason barely dents the city — mentioned only so you're not surprised by the crowd on Las Vegas Blvd.

Backstreet Boys at SphereSelected dates. Big for the neighbourhood behind The Venetian, not for the whole Strip.
The takeAugust is the cheapest month of the year for a reason — it is genuinely, seriously hot. If you can handle 105°F and you plan your walking for after dark, this is the best value on this entire page.

September 2026

Labor Day weekendThe last true pool-party weekend of the year. Dayclubs are the whole story.

Raiders home openervs. Miami. Also Sep 20 and Sep 27 — three home Sundays in one month.
Sep 18–19
iHeartRadio Music FestivalT-Mobile Arena, both nights, plus the daytime stage. One of the busiest weekends of the autumn.

Mexican Independence DayConsistently one of the biggest non-holiday weekends in the city. Widely underestimated by first-timers.
The takeThe weather finally turns walkable around the third week. Rooms are still autumn-priced. If you want one month that balances heat, cost and atmosphere, this is a strong pick — just avoid the iHeartRadio weekend unless that's why you're coming.

October 2026 best walking weather

Raiders home gamesKansas City, Buffalo and the LA Rams. The Chiefs game on the 4th brings the biggest travelling support in the league.
Oct 31
Halloween — on a SaturdayThis only happens every few years and the city goes properly feral for it. Treat it as a packed weekend inside an otherwise normal month.
The take70–85°F, dry, and the single best month of the year to actually walk the Strip end to end. Book the room a few weeks out and October rewards you more than any other month here.

November 2026

Nov 3–6
SEMA ShowLas Vegas Convention Center. One of the largest trade shows the city hosts, and it takes over the convention corridor and the mid-Strip hotels with it.

Raiders vs. SeattleAllegiant Stadium.
Nov 19–21
Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand PrixThe Strip itself becomes the circuit. Roads close, walkways are re-routed, and room rates go somewhere you have to see to believe. A genuine spectacle — and the single hardest week of the year to visit casually.
Nov 26
ThanksgivingFalls the week straight after F1, so the city barely gets to exhale.
The takeThe busiest month on this page, start to finish. Come for F1 on purpose and it's one of the great weekends in world sport. Turn up for a quiet trip and you will have picked the worst possible week — book by summer or pick a different month.

December 2026

Packed, then easy, then packed
Dec 3–12
National Finals RodeoTen days. The city fills with a completely different crowd and half the Strip leans into it — this is one of the most distinctive weeks Las Vegas has.

Raiders home gamesChargers, Broncos and Titans. Three straight home Sundays to close the season.
Dec 14–23
Nothing at allThe quietest and cheapest stretch of the entire year. Rodeo has left, the holidays haven't started, and the city is briefly empty.
Dec 31
New Year's EveLas Vegas Blvd closes to traffic and becomes pedestrian-only. This year it lands on a Thursday, so it runs straight into a four-day weekend.
The takeDecember is really three different months. If cost is what matters to you, the ten days between the rodeo finishing and the holidays starting are the best-value dates on this whole page.

January 2027

Packed, then easy
Jan 6–9
CESThe biggest convention week of the year. Rooms, taxis, restaurants and the Loop are all running at capacity, and the convention corridor is effectively closed to tourists.
Jan 19–21
World of ConcreteLarge, but nothing like CES. Mostly felt around the convention centre.
Jan 22–31
The other quiet windowLate January is the second-cheapest stretch of the year after mid-December.
The takeAvoid the first ten days unless you are here for CES. After that, January is cold at night, cheap, and almost pleasant to walk.

February 2027

One packed weekend
Feb 12–14
Super Bowl weekend — and Valentine's DayThe game is in Los Angeles, but Las Vegas is where America watches it, and in 2027 it falls on Valentine's Day. Two of the biggest booking occasions of the year land on the same Sunday. This will be the most expensive weekend of the first quarter.
Rest of month
Genuinely quietOutside that one weekend, February is one of the softest months on the calendar.
The takeA month of two halves. Miss the middle weekend and February is close to a bargain.

March 2027

Mid-March
March MadnessConference tournaments are played here and the sportsbooks fill from open to close. For a lot of people this is the single most fun week to be in Las Vegas.
All month
Spring breakRolling, not one week. Pools reopen, the sidewalk gets loud, and the crowd skews young.
The takeLoud, packed, brilliant weather and priced accordingly. If the atmosphere is what you came for, March delivers more of it per day than any month here.

April 2027

Busy
All month
Peak convention seasonApril is one of the heaviest business-travel months of the year, which keeps midweek rates unusually high and weekend rates unusually normal.

The last comfortable monthPerfect walking weather before the heat arrives in May.
The takeThe one month where the usual rule inverts — a Saturday can genuinely cost less than the Tuesday before it. Worth pricing both.

May 2027

May 14–16
EDC — weekend oneElectric Daisy Carnival expands to two weekends for 2027. Held at the Motor Speedway, felt across the entire city.
May 21–23
EDC — weekend twoThe second weekend is new. Assume both are equally full until proven otherwise.
May 29–31
Memorial Day weekendPool season officially opens for business. Follows EDC by a week.
The takeThree packed weekends out of five, and the heat arriving. If you want May, book it in winter.

June 2027

Busy, then cooling off
Late June
UFC International Fight WeekA card at T-Mobile Arena plus a week of events around it. Fight weekends are their own species of busy — see below.
All month
The heat sets inRates begin their slide toward the August floor.
The takePrices start falling faster than the crowds do, which makes late June quietly good value if the heat doesn't scare you.

July 2027 hottest month

Jul 2–4
Fourth of July weekendOne busy weekend in an otherwise soft month.
Mid-July
NBA Summer LeagueHeld at UNLV. Fills a few hotels, not the city.
The takeCheap, and brutally hot. Same trade as August — plan everything outdoors for after sunset and July is a perfectly good trip.

The weeks that repeat every year

Exact dates move. These windows don't. If you're planning further out than the calendar above, this is the part that stays true.

No fixed dateFight weekends. A big card is announced eight to ten weeks out and rewrites that weekend's rates overnight. This is the one you cannot plan around — you can only check.

How to work a packed weekend

A busy week is not a reason to stay home. It's usually the best reason to come. It just needs a different plan — and the plan is mostly about the two bridges and the hour of the night.

  1. Cross the bridges before 9pm, or after 1am.Flamingo Road and Tropicana Avenue are the only two places on the Strip where the crowd is forced up onto a pedestrian bridge. Between 9pm and 1am on a busy night, those bridges are the bottleneck for the entire street.
  2. Never order a rideshare from the busiest building.Walk five minutes to a quieter property and order from that pickup zone instead. You will regularly save more time than the walk cost you, and a lot of money in surge.
  3. Pick your zone by 9pm and stay in it.Everyone who has a bad night in this city has one for the same reason: they tried to get somewhere else at 11pm. Decide where you want to be for the next three hours before the street fills.
  4. Eat at 1am.The city is genuinely built for it. The 7pm to 10pm window is when every restaurant is fighting the same crowd; 1am is when Las Vegas is at its best and its emptiest.
